Experience a challenging hike to the Kreuzbergwarte, enjoy the fantastic view and the beautiful landscape on the circular hiking trail.
The tour begins at the Hallstattzeitliches Museum Großklein and initially leads towards Heimschuh. The trail runs through the village and along picturesque municipal paths over the Windischgraben towards Hammerkogel. At Kröllweber in Nestelberg, the trail turns towards Gatschnig. Shortly before the Kreuzbergwarte (which is worth a short detour), it passes the Maier winery and descends along forest and community paths to the Skringer wine tavern. Finally, it returns via the Lassenberg to the starting point of the hike.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Leibnitz exit. Follow the B74 to Heimschuh - Großklein.
The hike begins at the Hallstatt Museum in Großklein - past the Großklein inns Steirerkeller, Wrolli-Edler and Wagner - towards Heimschuh. The trail continues to the Bierfranzlkappelle chapel and the Buschenschank Wölfl winery to the Kreuzbergwart. Over the Karsabathe past the Buschenschank Klopfer vulgo Glaserkeller winery and over the Kohlberg - Lassenberg - Karberg area back to the starting point.
The Hallstatt Period Museum offers a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the Hallstatt period.
Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.
For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible.
