A leisurely loop hike that winds through the Retznei district. The trail has minimal elevation changes and offers several interesting sights.

The starting point is the Neue Markt in Ehrenhausen. From there, follow the paved roads and forest and meadow paths toward Ehrenhausen’s main square. The gentle incline leads you further through the forest to the Retznei mountain pool. From here, keep to the right and walk to the center of Retznei. Then turn left toward Unterlupitscheni/Aflenz. The signs lead you to the left into the forest, along the Aflenzbach stream, until you reach the road. From there, turn left again toward the Zweytick wine tavern and pass the Perner Winery along the road back toward Weinleiten. Here, follow the road to the larger intersection, which leads you through a side street into the Bürgerwald forest. Take the pleasant forest path back to the starting point.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Vogau exit. Follow the B69 to Ehrenhausen.
Parking is available right at the starting point in the town center.

Der Weg führt über befestigte Straßen, Wald- und Wiesenwege.

Wir spazieren vom Parkplatz aus in Richtung Hauptplatz Ehrenhausen, und orientieren uns an der Beschildung Richtung „Neue Mittelschule Ehrenhausen“ bzw. Weinleiten. Der leichte Anstieg führt weiter durch den Wald zum Bergbad Retznei. Von hier aus halten wir uns rechts, der Straße entlang in den Ortskern von Retznei. Danach geht es links nach Unterlupitscheni/Aflenz. Die Beschilung führt uns linkerhand in den Wald, entlang des Aflenzbaches spazieren wir weiter, bis wir zur Straße kommen. Von dort geht es wieder links weiter zum Buschenschank Zweytick, und vorbei am Weingut Perner entlang der Straße wieder zurück Richtung Weinleiten. Hier folgen wir dem Straßenverlauf bis zur größeren Kreuzung, die uns dann über eine Seitengasse in den Bürgerwald führt. Über den gemütlichen Waldweg kommen wir zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
