Rauhnachtwanderung rund um Stainz

Start the new year with us in a lively way! During our approximately five-kilometer Rauhnacht hike, you can expect a traditional incense ritual, warming drinks, an impressive torch dance, and special moments around Stainz.

Schedule of the Rauhnacht hike:

From 4:10 p.m. – Meeting point at the Hofer-Mühle event center in Stainz
Here, you will receive your consumption vouchers and, depending on the weather, a solar or wax torch.

4:30 p.m. – Introduction and start
Incense expert Alexandra Koch will prepare us for the hike and explain the special significance of the Rauhnächte at the Hofer-Mühle. Afterwards, we will set off together towards Rauch-Hof.

After nearly half of the distance, you will experience the second part of the incense ritual. We consciously let go of the old and open ourselves to the new. For this, we will enjoy a warming drink – either mulled wine or fruit punch.

Around 6:00 p.m. – Torch hike to Stainz Castle
The atmospheric torch portion of our hike begins on the grounds of Rauch-Hof.

We will continue hiking through the Bründlwald to the moodily lit Stainz Castle. There, you will be greeted by the impressive torch dance of the Stainz folk dance group with suitable musical accompaniment.

Around 7:15 to 7:30 p.m. – Conclusion at the Hofer-Mühle
After approximately five kilometers, we will return to the Hofer-Mühle. With a snack and a glass of Frizzante or juice, we will end our hike comfortably and toast the new year together.

The price of € 35.00 per adult includes:

• Guided hike of about five kilometers

• Incense ritual with expert Alexandra Koch

• A warm drink during the break

• Renting a solar torch or a wax torch (depending on weather)

• Torch dance by the Stainz folk dance group

• Musical accompaniment

• Snack at the end (goulash soup)

• A glass of Frizzante, beer, or juice

• Support and coverage by the fire department

The consumption vouchers and the torches will be distributed right before the start at the Hofer-Mühle.

Deposit for solar torches:
A deposit of € 5.00 per torch is required on site for the issuance of a solar torch. Please have the amount ready in cash if possible.
Upon the full return of the solar torch at the end of the hike, the deposit will of course be refunded. No deposit is required for wax torches.

Participation of children:
Children up to 16 years can accompany you for free. No services or consumptions are included for them. Drinks and food can be paid for directly on site if needed.

Participation only without dogs allowed:
No dogs are allowed at our events and guided hikes. This is to ensure consideration for other guests as well as the special conditions along the route and at the individual program points.
