THE WINERY
SCHILCHER - an endless passion for Hannes and Luise Jöbstl - Schilcher Traditionell, Schilcher Weiß, Schnürlwein, red wine, but also Schilcher pressed like port wine, balsamic vinegar ... all made from the Blauer Wildbacher grape. Wine lovers rarely leave the Schilcherei ® without having been infected by the Schilcher virus! Of course, Sauvignon blanc, Muskateller and juices are also produced here in a natural and, for some years now, vegan way. Visit us and let us tempt you.
At the southern end of the Schilcher Wine Route, you'll find us, the Jöbstl family, at Am Schilcherberg 1. There, where extensive orchards and fields give way to Schilcher vineyards on the foothills of the Koralpe mountain range, our family has been cultivating the land since the 17th century.
Our roots lie in fruit growing. With foresight, our grandfather converted the farm to fruit cultivation, laying the foundation for the highest quality. In 1984, after completing his training in Klosterneuburg, Hannes Jöbstl began processing the farm's fruit himself. Together with his parents, Waltraud and Johann, and later with his wife, Luise, he further developed the business—into the Jöbstl Winery | Schilcherei Jöbstl.
We have a particularly strong connection to the Schilcher grape. Its diversity shapes our work and makes up a large part of our product range.
Today, the Jöbstl Winery is a place to taste, discover, and linger. The Schilcher Wine Experience begins right at the winery – a roughly 1.1-kilometer circular trail through the vineyards with interactive stations, a fun pass, and many insights into the world of Schilcher wine.
For those who want to delve deeper, tastings and cellar tours can be booked. We not only open bottles of wine, but also the doors to our cellar, our history, and the stories behind our wines.
Our Schilcher Embassy, a lovingly restored vaulted cellar, is available for private celebrations. Those wishing to stay longer will find a quiet spot at our campsite on the edge of the forest, right in the heart of Schilcherland – directly on hiking and cycling trails.
For over 40 years, we have been developing the winery with joy. What has remained constant is our conviction: "Success is the reward for yesterday's work and the mandate for tomorrow's quality."
