The Lodge to the Bearded Therese warmly welcomes you.*
It is the first queer lodge in Austria at around 1,000 meters above sea level – located on the beautiful Koralm, in the mountain village of Trahütten. A place for retreat, encounter, freedom, and community. Open, warm, self-confident, and with attitude.
The Therese is a queer safe space for adults (18+), where diversity is lived and everyone is welcome, just as they are.*
The lodge is quiet and secluded on the pasture and is the ideal place to escape from everyday life. It is best to stay for a whole weekend – then the trip to the Koralm is particularly worthwhile.
During the so-called play times, weekends with different focuses take place regularly. You are also welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer – just ask Therese to make sure your extra wishes can be accommodated.
In addition to the stay, the Therese is also a starting point for walks, nature experiences, and conscious time-outs in the midst of the alpine landscape.
At Therese, good food is enjoyed and prepared well.
The kitchen is run by Io Tondolo, who learned his craft from his grandmother in the inn. After several culinary stations, he now combines regional, seasonal cuisine with creativity and art.
Herbs come from the own garden or from the pasture, wild herbs are collected and processed according to the season. Cooking is primarily done for the house guests – sometimes Therese also opens its doors beyond that.
The lodge features its own bar, which is open all day.
In the morning, freshly ground coffee from the Graz organic roaster Paul & Bohne is served, along with teas from Sonnentor or herbs from Therese's garden.
Regional juices, soft drinks, and selected wines from the area – from the Schilcher and South Styrian Wine Route – are also on the menu, as well as a special selection of queer wineries that are particularly dear to Therese.
Depending on the season, the offerings change:
Mulled wine in winter, rosé and spritz in summer – and of course, regional schnapps should not be missed on the pasture. Sometimes there is even homemade stuff.

Late Check-Out
If you want to take your time with departure, Therese completely understands. That's why we offer Late Check-Out on Monday morning, and a small breakfast is included. All this for €30 (applies for bookings of 2 nights for the third night from Sunday to Monday, per person, with a small breakfast, including VAT, plus local tax, subject to availability. Excludes holiday weekends. Please inquire at the time of booking if possible.)
