IN THE SOUTH AND EAST OF GRAZ
The Graz basin, the Mur and floodplain areas and hill ranges in the east characterize the landscape. Between the popular Schwarzlsee leisure oasis and the Murauen recreational area, there are many opportunities for long walks and excursions with the whole family.
The large Kaiserwald forest in the south-west of the provincial capital serves as a recreational area and offers forest trails, forest paths, running routes and ponds and is an important retreat for many animal and plant species.
A varied, lovely hilly landscape stretches from the Auwiesen recreation area to the Hügelland with their apple and fruit orchards in the south-east of Graz. The spa town of Laßnitzhöhe offers a diverse network of hiking and themed trails and, above all, many excellent excursion inns make the Hügelland a real treat.
