Panoramic circular hike in the
Murtal Region from the Alpengasthof Sabathy to the Zirbitzkogel.
This scenic hike in the
Murtal Region takes us from the Sabathyhütte (Alpengasthof Sabathy) at a sea level at 1620 m comfortably uphill to the Linderhütte. Here you already have a beautiful view of the Zirbitzkogel. After the Linderhütte, we keep to the left and cross the stream and hike along the path or the small shortcuts towards the Rothaidenhütte. Shortly before the hut with a view of Obdach, we continue hiking to the right on meadows and serpentines uphill to the Zirbitzkogel. The way back is via the narrow Schreibersteig and short descent with rocks past the small and large Winterleiten lake to the Winterleiten hut. Below the hut, the trail leads to the Schmelzhütte hut and back to the Sabathyhütte hut on the right.

Direkt in der Marktgemeinde Obdach bei der Raiffeisenbank Richtung St. Wolfgang abbiegen. Kurz vor dem Erreichen von St. Wolfgang führt eine Abzweigung nach links zum Alpengasthof Sabathyhütte.
From Alpengasthof Sabathy, take trail 316 to Linderhütte and from there we take trail 47 to Rothaidenhütte. From the Rothaidenhütte, we take trail 46 to the junction with trail 320 and follow this to the Zirbitzkogel. From the Zirbitzkogel, take trail 308 to the large Winterleitensee lake and then follow trail 32 to the Alpengasthof Sabathy.
On this beautiful circular tour, take your time and enjoy the peace and quiet at the large or small Winterleiten Lake. This tour can also be reached by bus from Judenburg in the summer months. Starting point and arrival is the Schmelzhütte, please be sure to observe the bus times.
Beim Alpengasthof Sabtahy sind ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden.
