Strolling and strolling - in the shopping town of Feldbach people meet at the Kirtag.
There are up to 40 stallholders on the main square. Tools, clothing, toys and, last but not least, the pretty Kirtags hearts made of gingerbread are offered by the market stallholders. And also the commercial enterprises and the caterers of the city are with super Kirtags offers in the play. Special Kirtag dishes include gröstl, Brein sausage and Kirtag soup. The Kirtagsgeschehen extends also over the longest street of the fashion in the southeast of Austria (the Ungarstraße and the Bürgergasse) up to the quarter of the Grazer Straße. Going to the market is the trend. Farmer's market, flea market and Kirtagsmarkt are popular attractions of the shopping city Feldbach. Every year there are six opportunities to do so: these are based on church holidays Pauli's conversion (25.1.), 40 Martyrs (12.3.), Peregrin (2.5.), Anna (26.7.), Rupert (24.9.) and Leonhard (6.11.). The new staging of the Kirtage as a "meeting point" is a further building block in the successful urban development program in which gastronomy, trade, service providers and market stallholders pull together with the municipality and the tourism association.
