To mark its 20th anniversary, the Gerberhaus is looking back to the past and forward to the future.
Ten years ago, there was a large overview exhibition with all the artists who have been presented since the opening. However, no new retrospective is planned for the 20th anniversary of the museum; instead, the artists who have had solo exhibitions in the last 10 years will propose a colleague who they believe should carry on the torch. This not only initiates a generational change, but also relies on the expertise of the artistic community, which has always been upheld at the Gerberhaus. What does the program of the future look like? How do the artists see the direction of the Gerberhaus? Which artistic positions are highly valued by the artists? The vernissage will take place on May 2, 2024 at 7.30 pm. Curator Roman Grabner (Head of BRUSEUM, Universalmuseum Joanneum) will speak about the exhibition. Admission free.
