He received important artistic impulses from Claudio Abbado, Yehudi Menuhin, Paul Tortelier and Tibor Varga. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in many major European cities such as London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and many other cities, as well as in the USA, Canada, Japan, China, Mexico and at the Fajr Festival in Tehran. Friedrich Kleinhapl has also performed at the Wiener Festwochen, the Wiener Klangbogen, the Bregenz Festival, the Styriarte Festival and the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt.
