A real adventure for fit, active hikers, taking in stunning spots where the river’s power is in full force.

You start at the Jakobishaus in Soboth and first follow Trail No. 9 or Trail No. 8 to the trailhead, then walk upstream along the Feistritzbach. Another option is to drive directly to one of the two car parks at the trailhead (turn off the B69 towards Laaken or Laakener Straße before the Feistritzbach) Wild hiking involves free, off-trail exploration of untouched valleys and gorges. It places high demands on walking technique – walking across rough terrain, negotiating boulders and tree trunks, crossing streams and constantly moving across wet, slippery ground are the norm! This route is only suitable for very fit, active hikers!

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 towards Klagenfurt at the Graz-West motorway junction. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 towards Lannach-Deutschlandsberg-Hollenegg-Wies-Eibiswald-Soboth.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport. For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible.

Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available. This allows you to start your tour stress-free while also contributing to climate and nature conservation.
