Take a hike through the villages of Soboth and Sankt Vinzenz, where you’ll find remnants of the thriving glassmaking era, and discover the idyllic spots along the way.

Start your hike in the village of Soboth and head uphill, passing the church and the Grenzlandschule. Cross State Route B69 and, after about 15 minutes, you’ll reach the Lindner Inn. Follow the “classic” Koralm-Kristall-Trail (KKT) along a beautiful forest path and an easy access road to the Dreieckhütte. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking view of all of southern and western Styria and take a break. From the Dreieckhütte, take Trail 1, which leads first westward and then southward downhill. At the Schwarzenbach intersection, do not turn toward St. Vinzenz, but follow Trail 1 to the former Urch Inn. The trail passes the ruins of the Upper Glassworks and the historic lime kiln, which offer a glimpse into the region’s flourishing glassmaking era. Finally, you’ll reach the Lindner Inn again and return to Soboth. This hike offers not only beautiful natural scenery but also interesting historical sites and impressive views, especially from the Dreieckhütte.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Deutschlandsberg, then continue toward Soboth.

Im Aufstieg folgen wir dem „klassischen“ Koralm-Kristall-Trail(KKT) von Soboth Ort über Gasthaus Lindner zur Dreieckhütte (Weg 560). Von Soboth gehen wir bergwärts (N) an Kirche und Grenzlandschule vorbei, überqueren die Bundesstraße B69 und sind schon nach 15 min. beim Gasthaus Lindner. Auf schönem Waldpfad, zuletzt auf einer bequemen Zubringerstraße, erreichen wir in eineinhalb Stunden die Dreieck-Alm-Hütte (1.452 m). Hier liegt die ganze Süd- und Weststeiermark, ausgebreitet gegen Osten vor uns. Da kann man rasten, schauen und sich stärken. Von der Dreieckhütte nehmen wir dann Weg 1, vorerstgegen Westen, um bald gegen Süden hinabzusteigen. An der Schwarzenbachkreuzung gehen wir nicht weiter nach St. Vinzenz (Weg 2) sondern Weg 1 (SÖ) zum ehem. Gasthaus Urch (1.314 m) (eine gute halbe Stunde von der Dreieckhütte). Der Weg führt vorbei an den Ruinen der Oberen Glashütte. Gleich nach der Ruine nehmen wir Weg 3, kommen vorbei am Historischen Kalkofen der die nahegelegene ehem. Glashütte versorgte, und seigen weiterab bis zu einer Wegkreuzung wo wir mit Weg 1a zum Weg Nr. 1 kommen, und sind in einer halben Stunde wieder beim Gasthaus Lindner, bzw. 15 min. später im Ort Soboth.
