Along this adventure trail, clear illustrations and information boards explain a wide variety of regional topics, including wine, culture, geology, orchards and much more. You will also come directly to the observation tower on Platschberg.

Starting from Spielfeld railway station, you hike towards BS Neubauer on the Graßnitzberg. Passing excellent wine taverns and through vineyards, the trail leads towards the observation tower on Platschberg / Razgledni stolp na Plackkem vrhu on the Slovenian side. Across the famous vineyards of the Hochgraßnitzberg, you hike back to the starting point at the foot of the Sauberg. A true hiking experience with wonderful places to linger, gaze into the distance and enjoy the delicacies of the region.

Coming from Graz via the A9 (approx. 50 km), then take the Spielfeld exit.
Park for free and without time limits at the railway station in Spielfeld.

Der Weg führt über befestigte Straßen, Wald und Wiesenwege und durch Weingärten. Vom Parkplatz unweit des Weingut Tement verläuft der Wanderweg zur Aussichtwarte am Platschberg/Plac, welche einen herrlichen Rundumblick in die Südsteiermark und nach Slowenien bietet. Über den Hochgraßnitzberg geht die Wanderung durch die Weingärten (mit einigen Höhenunterschieden) auf den gegenüberliegenden Graßnitzberg. Hier kann wahlweise an den Rebenwanderweg Spielfeld Richtung Bahnhof Spielfeld angeschlossen, oder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt gewandert werden.

The observation tower on the Slovenian-Styrian border. Known as Plac, Platsch, Kungota or Placki vrh, it rewards visitors with breathtaking views. The viewing platform is 22.5 metres high and can be reached by climbing 129 steps.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible.

Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
