The Ancient Herbs Trail leads you along the Austrian-Slovenian border and shows you the great variety of ancient herbs that still occur naturally in Remschnigg.

Along the gently sloping hiking trail, which winds through woods and across meadows, grow over 100 different herbs, still found in their original form in the Remschnigg region. Information panels along the way provide valuable insights into some of these wild herbs. Embark on a journey of discovery and take the opportunity to find peace and ground yourself by engaging with your "plant allies"—a true balm for body and soul in our hectic times. The herb stations invite you to experience and learn about various herbs through sight, smell, and touch. Please don't pick them, so that future hikers can also enjoy them! The trail begins at the Obergues Winery and ends at the ancient herb garden at Serschenhof.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Vogau-Straß exit, follow the B69 towards Ehrenhausen - Gamlitz until you reach Leutschach. In Leutschach, continue towards Schloßberg until you reach the OberGuess wine tavern.
At the starting point oberGuess - or if you are hiking in the other direction - at the Serschenhof Tertinjek.

Gewandert wird entlang des Grenzpanoramawegs auf Wald- und Wiesenwegen und befestigten Straßen.

Der UrKräuterweg beginnt beim Weingut Oberguess und endet im UrKräutergarten am Serschenhof. Retour kommt man entweder zu Fuß oder mit dem Weinmobil. Natürlich kann auch der Garten als Start- und das Weingut als Zielpunkt gewählt werden.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible. Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
