The hiking trail winds through forests and farmland, passing through typical West Styrian farming villages.

The loop trail begins across from the former Leberschuster Inn in Mettersdorf. (Waste collection center; a wooden cross is clearly visible on the gable end.) We walk down a gently sloping sidewalk to the church; just past it, we turn left and hike along the quiet local road to the forest, where we keep to the left. We reach the dam of the flood retention basin via a gravel farm road. Passing the two fish ponds, we continue on a dirt path to the village of Graggerer. We reach the first houses, from where we look west toward the village center. In the village, the path leads directly to the chapel; here, we take the road to the left toward Grafendorf. Passing a wayside cross, we reach the Eckrieglhöhe. While the road continues straight on to Grafendorf, we turn right and follow the ridge to the stunning viewpoint. After a forest path, we reach the local road to Fuggaberg. In Unterfuggaberg, near the chapel, we take the road to the left. This is the highest point of the tour. Our road leads to Ettendorf/Stainz, and the path soon descends steeply. Passing the Ettendorf Fire Department station, we turn left onto a dirt road and leave Ettendorf on our right. The path joins the municipal road to Grafendorf, a well-kept farming village. We reach the Preding/Stainz state road, but we only walk uphill along it for a short distance. We turn left onto a farm road and, passing fields and meadows, head back to the starting point.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Deutschlandsberg.

Der Rundweg beginnt beim Abfallsammelzentrum (giebelseitig gut sichtbar montiertes Holzkreuz) gegenüber Gh Leberschuster in Mettersdorf. Von hier geht es flach abfallend auf einem Gehsteig bis zur Kirche. Gleich dahinter biegen wir nach links ab und wandern entlang auf der wenig befahrenen Gemeindestraße bis zum Wald, wo wir uns links halten. Auf einem geschotterten Wirtschaftsweg erreichen wir bald den Damm des Hochwasserrückhaltebeckens. Auf der Dammkrone gibt es ein Rastbankerl. Weiter geht es zwischen zwei Fischteichen hindurch auf einem Feldweg zum Dorf Graggerer. Am Saum von Äckern und Wiesen erreichen wir die ersten Häuser, von wo wir nach Westen auf das Dorfzentrum hinüber blicken. Im Dorf führt der Weg direkt zur gut renovierten Kapelle. Hier nehmen wir die Straße links nach Grafendorf. Vorbei an einem Wegkreuz erreichen wir die Eckrieglhöhe. Während die Straße geradeaus nach Grafendorf führt (Wegabkürzung möglich!), schwenken wir nach rechts und gehen am Hügelkamm weiter bis zum Panoramapunkt mit Rastbank (Top-Ausblick auf Stainz, Koralm, Rosenkogel …). Nun führt der Weg durch einen Wald, doch bald erreichen wir die Gemeindestraße nach Fuggaberg. In Unterfuggaberg nahe der Kapelle nehmen wir die Straße links. Hier haben wir den höchste Punkt der Tour (382 m Seehöhe), wieder mit schönem Ausblick. Unsere Straße weist nach Ettendorf und Stainz. Es geht bald steil bergab und wir erreichen Kummerdorf, eine alte, nur mehr wenig bekannte Dorfbezeichnung östlich von Ettendorf. Hier tut sich wieder das Koralmpanorama auf. Vorbei am Rüsthaus der FF Ettendorf biegen wir links in einen Feldweg und lassen Ettendorf rechts liegen. Der Weg mündet in die Gemeindestraße nach Grafendorf, unserem nächsten Ziel. Wir wandern durch Grafendorf, ein gepflegtes Bauerndorf mit überwiegend neuer Bausubstanz. Die Dorfkapelle mit Tisch und Rastbänken lädt zur Rast ein. Bald erreichen wir die Landesstraße Preding – Stainz, die wir aber lediglich 50 m aufwärts gehen müssen. Links zweigen wir in einen Wirtschaftsweg ab. Entlang von Äckern und Wiesen geht es zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
