On this loop hike, you'll find plenty of scenic spots to capture with your camera.

From the Schilcherland parking lot in St. Stefan, we take trail S4, passing the middle school until we reach the Klug carpentry shop. Here we turn left and head diagonally right downhill through the forest. We follow trail S6 through the sawmill, cross the footbridge and the municipal road. After a few meters, we turn right onto the forest path until we reach the dog training school, then continue over the bridge to the road. From here, we follow hiking trail S4. Through woods and meadows and over the footbridge to the trail junction marked S3.06. Turn right across a meadow to the next trail junction, turn left, and follow the S4.06 marker. Pass the Waldspitz on the right, climbing slightly to a property.
We come to State Road L667. We turn left onto it and follow Trail S4 to the left again, which leads through the forest to Zirknitzstraße. We stay on the trail until we reach a farm access road on the left, walk down it to the left, turn right onto the forest path after about 100 meters, and continue across the footbridge. After a slight climb, we arrive at a property. In the courtyard area, we keep to the left, following the dirt road and heading down through the forest to trail S1, which we follow to the dairy farm Herunter in Puxhof. Here we turn left toward the Krainerhof wine tavern. From here, we take the Genuss-Schilchern-Weg back to the starting point in St. Stefan/Stainz.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Deutschlandsberg.

Ausgangspunkt dieses Rundweges ist der Schilcherland-Parkplatz in St. Stefan/Stainz.

Vom Parkplatz aus gehen wir den Weg S4, S6 vorbei an der Mittelschule bis zur Tischlerei Klug. Hier biegen wir links ab und gehen anschließend halb rechts durch den Wald hinunter. Nun folgen wir dem Weg S6 durch das Sägewerk, queren den Steg und die Gemeindestraße. Nach ca. 20 m gehen wir rechts den Waldweg entlang bis zur Hundeschule, weiter über die Brücke bis zur Straße. Ab hier folgen wir dem Wanderweg S4. Nun geht es über Wald und Wiese und über den Steg zur Wanderwegkreuzung, (S3,06). Wir gehen rechts über ein Wiesenstück bis zur nächsten Wanderwegkreuzung, biegen links ab und folgen der Markierung S4,06. Es geht rechts am Waldspitz vorbei, wo es ein wenig ansteigt bis zu einem Anwesen. Nun gehen wir die Straße entlang und kommen zur Landesstraße L667. In diese biegen wir links ein und kommen bald darauf zum Treitlerwirt, bei dem wir eine Stärkung einnehmen können. Nun folgen wir wieder dem Weg S4 nach links, der durch den Wald bis zur Zirknitzstraße führt. Diese Straße führt uns vorbei am Weinbau Bäuchel vlg. Finz Auch hier lohnt es sich, einen Abstecher zu machen. Wir bleiben auf dem Weg S4 bis links eine Hofaufschließungsstaße kommt, gehen diese links hinunter, biegen nach ca. 100 m rechts in den Waldweg ab und wandern über den Steg weiter. Ab hier steigt es leicht an bis zum Anwesen Ofner vlg. Lidl. Im Hofbereich halten wir uns links, gehen den Feldweg entlang und kommen durch den Wald hinunter zum Weg S1, dem wir bis zum Milchbauernhof Herunter in Puxhof folgen. Hier biegen wir links ab zum Buschenschank Krainerhof, in dem wir uns auch ausgiebig stärken können. Von hier geht es auf dem Genuss-Schilchern-Weg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt nach St. Stefan/Stainz.
