The Wolfgangiweg ÖAV Trail 12 is an idyllic circular walking route that runs past Wolfgangi Church and offers magnificent views of the Sulm and Laßnitz valleys. This charming trail passes Wolfgangi Church (725 m), which invites you to meditate and offers fantastic views in all four directions. Along the way, there are opportunities to stop for refreshments at a local inn.

From the Klause-Entrance, head towards Glashüttenstraße and walk out of town for about 200 metres, then turn right through the Nebelhansl farmstead. Continue to Barhoferweg and follow a meadow and woodland path uphill to Glashüttenstraße. Follow this for about 100 metres uphill and turn left onto Warnblickweg; the path continues uphill to the Wieserhuisl Chapel (rest area). Passing the Wieserhuisl farmstead, you’ll come to a steep sunken path and then to the Gregorhansl Alpine Inn. From there, walk a short distance along the Mariazeller long-distance hiking trail no. 506, then you will reach the highest point of the hike, the Wolfgangikircherl. Enjoy the magnificent view here. You then walk downhill and turn right onto a forest path leading to the Wolfgangiweg. Follow this gently sloping path for approx. 300m and turn right onto a forest path. This path crosses two forest roads to the Stöckl farmstead. Here you have a magnificent view of the town of Deutschlandsberg. Walk down the Wolfgangiweg and take a short shortcut via a forest path. Walk a short distance along the Leibenbach stream to Glashüttenstraße and, before you reach the starting point, take a moment to admire the beautiful Deutschlandsberg Castle.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 towards Klagenfurt at the Graz-West motorway junction. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 towards Lannach-Deutschlandsberg.

Wir beginnen unsere Rundwanderung bei der Glashüttenstraße auf Höhe der Laßnitzbrücke und wandern stadtauswärts ca. 200m, dann rechts durch das Gehöft vlg. Nebelhansl. Am Ende der kleinen Asphaltstraße gehen wir über einen Wiesensteig zur Höllbauerkapelle und kommen dann zum Gehöft vlg. Barhofer. Im Hofbereich geht´s dann rechts über einen Wiesen- und Waldweg hinauf bis zur Glashüttenstraße. Diese gehen wir danach ca. 100 m bergauf und danach biegen wir links ab Richtung Warnblickweg bis vlg. Fobisch (der rechts liegengelassen wird). Hierauf steigen wir wiederum bergauf zur Wieserhoislkapelle und zum Gehöf vlg. Wieserhoisl. Durch einen steilen Hohlweg kommen wir schließlich zum Alpengasthaus Gregorhansl. Weiter gehen wir zum Wolfgangikircherl (767 m), dem höchsten Punkt unserer Wanderung. Dort können wir dann die herrliche Aussicht genießen!Die spätgotische Wolfgangikirche ist eine Filialkirche der Pfarre Hollenegg. Das Wolfgangikomitee, welches zur Erhaltung der Kirche gegründet wurde, hat 4 Stationen eingerichtet, die zum Nachdenken und zum Meditieren einladen. Wir wandern anschließend entlang der Wolfgangikirche bergab und die letzten 150 m im Wald zurück zur Straße (Wolfgangiweg) und gehen dann auf derselben nach links. Es geht weiter am Wolfgangiweg leicht bergab und nach ca. 300 m zweigt rechter Hand ein Steig ab, welchen wir hinabgehen. Dieser Steig quert dann zwei Forststraßen bis hinunter zum Wolfgangiweg. Beim Gehöf vlg. Stöckl (herrliche Sicht auf die Stadt) biegen wir dann rechts ab und gehen ca. 400 m bergab, dann gehen wir links durch einen Waldweg hinunter bis zum Wolfgangiweg. Den Wolfgangiweg gehen wir runter, wobei wir ein kleines Stück entlang des Leibenbaches bis zur Glashüttenstraße wandern. Der Glashüttenstraße folgen wir ca. 200 m entlang bis zur Abzweigung Richtung Stadt (wunderschöne Sicht auf die Burg Deutschlandsberg). Danach gehen wir ca. 500 m entlang des Gehsteiges zurück zum Ausgangspunkt Laßnitzbrücke.

Sie gehen beim Wolfgangiweg teilweise immer wieder entlang des Mariazeller Weges 506.
