At eight stations leading from the town center over the historic castle hill down to the Kainach river, this themed trail (part of the “Styrian Literary Trails of the Middle Ages” network), decorated with numerous medieval depictions of cats, recounts the most interesting passages from Herrand von Wildon's verse novella “Die Katze” (The Cat).

The trail leads us from Wildon Castle/town hall, where we also find an orientation station, through the right archway to the castle hill ascent. At the top, it branches off to the right at storytelling station I and continues along the road now called Am Schloßberg (experience station II) to the intersection after the Unterhauskapelle chapel.

From there, the trail continues to the right down towards the market square with experience stations III–IV, with two detours to the natural stage, experience station V, and to the Gassleiten with experience station VI. Once we reach the main road, we turn left to the Kainach bridge and then right onto the bike path to the Wildon swimming lake, where we arrive at experience station VII.

Coming from Graz on the A9, take the Wildon exit.
Parking spaces are available in the centre of Wildon.

Der Pfad führt uns vom Schloss Wildon/Gemeindeamt, wo wir auch eine Orientierungsstation finden, durch den rechten Torbogen zum Schlossbergaufgang. Oben zweigt der bei der Erzählstation I rechts ab und verläuft weiter auf der jetzt Am Schloßberg genannten Straße (Erlebnisstation II) bis zur Kreuzung nach der Unterhauskapelle.

Von dort führt der weitere Wegrechts hinunter in Richtung Markt mit den Erlebnisstationen III–IV, mit zwei Abstechern zur Naturbühne, der Erlebnisstation V und in die Gassleiten mit der Erlebnissstation VI. An der Hauptstraße angelangt zweigen wir links ab zur Kainachbrücke und dann rechts auf den Radweg zum Wildoner Badesee, wo wir zur Erlebnisstation VII gelangen.
