A short, leisurely walk along the picturesque Soboth Reservoir on the border between Southern Styria and Carinthia.

Like a Canadian mountain lake, the Soboth Reservoir lies in the heart of a densely forested region. Along the lake, you can enjoy a lovely walk, go rollerblading, run, or simply linger and let your gaze wander over the unspoiled landscape. You start at the parking lot right at the entrance to the Soboth Reservoir. From there, you can simply walk along the lake for as long as you like. After the diving spot just before Charly’s Hut, there is a short, steeper section; the road continues all the way to the village of St. Vinzenz, which is already in Kärnten.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Deutschlandsberg-Hollenegg-Wies-Eibiswald-Soboth.
Parking is available at the reservoir.

Sie starten am Parkplatz gleich bei der Einfahrt zum Stausee Soboth. Hier ist eine geringe Parkgebühr nach Stunden gestaffelt zu entrichten. Gebührenpflichtiges Parken: Täglich von 08:00 bis 18:00 Uhr; bis zu einer Stunde keine Gebühr, ab 1 Stunde bis 3 Stunden € 2,00 über 3 Stunden (Tagessatz) € 5,00 Jahresticket (01. Jänner bis 31. Dezember) € 30,00

Danach können Sie einfach entlang des Sees spazieren, solange Sie Lust und Laune haben. Nach dem Tauchtreff kurz vor Charly's Hütte ist ein kurzes steileres Stück, die Straße verläuft bis in den Ort St. Vinzenz, welcher schon in Kärnten liegt. Die Wegstrecke vom Parkplatz bis nach St. Vinzenz beträgt insgesamt rund 8 km.

The highlight of this hiking trail is the Soboth Reservoir itself. Especially on hot summer days, it’s the perfect spot for swimming, sailing, or even taking a pedal boat out for a spin.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible. Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
