The Sulmweg trail is a real insider tip for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. Here you can recharge your batteries and unwind in unspoilt natural surroundings. The hike along the White Sulm offers impressive scenery with rich flora and fauna.

The constant murmur of the mountain water has a calming and meditative effect; it is like music to the ears. The Sulmweg trail starts at the idyllic natural swimming pond ‘Kipferlbad’ in Pölfing-Brunn, from where you can hike leisurely along the Weiße Sulm to Wies. Once you arrive in Wies, follow the Sulm alternately on meadow and paved paths to Wernersdorf. Along the way, you will discover several information boards about the history, flora and fauna along the Sulm. On hot days, we recommend cooling off in the Sulm, where you can also hike a bit in the cool water.

Take the motorway towards Graz (A2) to the Lieboch exit. Continue on the B76 towards Eibiswald until you reach Pöfing-Brunn.

Vom Marktplatz gehen Sie bis zur Raiffeisenbank, danach scharf links abbiegen - wenn Sie den Parkplatz queren kommen Sie zum Einstieg in den Sulmweg. Dem Wegweiser flussaufwärts bis zur Landesstraße folgen. Dort links abbiegen - vor der Brücke die Straße überqueren (Achtung auf den Straßenverkehr!). Danach die Sulm entlang wandern bis zur Brücke wo man die Sulm überquert. Dann scharf rechts abbiegen - bis zum E-Werk Sigl, nach der Brücke links abbiegen und wieder entlang der Sulm gehen. Bei der Bundesstraße den Weg durch die Unterführung nehmen - dort sind Sie bei den Sulmauen angekommen. Danach gemütlich durch die Sulmauen wandern, bis sie zur Dorfstraße in Vordersdorf gelangen. Dort rechts abbiegen, den Gehsteig entlang wandern, nach ca. 200 Meter links zum Feuchtbiotop abbiegen. Nach einigen Metern rechts gehen - auf dem Feldweg entlang zur Landesstraße. Dann links abbiegen - auf dem Gehsteig der Landesstraße entlang. Bei der Brücke die Straße überqueren - Richtung Kogl, nach kurzer Strecke links abbiegen, der Weg ist hier leicht ansteigend - von oben hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf Sankt Pongratzen und die Remschnigg Alm (Landesgrenze zu Slowenien). In der Tiefe hört man das Rauschen der Weißen Sulm. Weiter geht es an Häusern und Weingärten vorbei => ein Abstecher zum Erlebnisweingut Pauritsch oder der Schilcherei/Brennerei Jöbstl ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert! Bei der Straßengabelung links zur Landesstraße. Rechts den Gehsteig entlang zum Dorfplatz Wernersdorf. Hier ist eine Besichtigung der Emmauskapelle nach Anmeldung empfehlenswert. (Anmeldung bei Luise Jöbstl: 0664/534 07 77). Der Rückweg nach Wies kann auch auf dem beschilderten Emmauswinzerweg genommen werden.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible.
