Picturesque vineyards, pretty farmhouses and plenty of places to stop for refreshments - a leisurely circular hike with fantastic views and one or two botanical features.
The starting point is the Schilcherland parking lot. Follow the markings S1, S4 and 06 past the elementary school through the forest along the meadow path to Puxhof. Turn left there and you are on path S2A. Follow the path through the dairy farm to the junction with S2. The path climbs slightly, and just a short distance after the farm there is a picturesque bench where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful view. The still slightly ascending hike continues to the main road, which you cross and continue along path S2 to the wayside shrine next to the fire station in Gundersdorf. Continue along the S1 to the village center. There are several opportunities to indulge in the culinary and vinophile delights of Schilcherland. The trail continues along the S1 markings through the vineyard to the stream. There you turn left and pass the natural monument “Celtic Tree Circle” and the Hubertus Chapel. Follow trail no. S1 along the road back to St. Stefan ob Stainz.
