Discover the picturesque landscape and unique cuisine around St. Nikolai im Sausal.

The hike begins at the Pichler-Schober winery and leads along the municipal road and through forest paths towards Wellingtal. From there, you walk through a wooded area and along municipal roads to the highest point of the hike, which offers magnificent views. You can return to the starting point via the Mittereggweg and Christweg trails, enjoying a leisurely walk and fantastic views.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Leibnitz exit. Follow the B74 to Kaindorf a. d. Sulm – Muggenau junction – St. Nikolai i. S.
Parking spaces are available at the municipal office, the starting point of the hike.

Starting from the centre of St. Nikolai im Sausal, the route leads along the municipal road and along forest paths to Mitteregg. Passing wine taverns, you reach the Sausal Wine Road. Here you are rewarded for your efforts with a magnificent panorama. After about 300 m, the trail leads downhill via Kerschegg - Genseberg - down to the Waldschach ponds and then ascends to the Waldschach chapel and via the old trail back to the starting point.
