This challenging hike offers numerous attractions, including the largest wind rattle, the forest and wildlife nature trail, and the butterfly meadow. But that's not all, because there is much more to discover along the way.
‘The hike over the three hills with magnificent panoramic views’. The circuit begins in the centre of Sankt Andrä im Sausal and initially follows municipal paths before leading through the forest trail past the red deer enclosure to Brünngraben (328 m). Via Schmalegg, you reach the baroque Harrachegg Castle with the Sausal wine and culture cellar. From there, the forest and wildlife trail first leads to the Hubertusgrotte, then you follow the path out of the forest via the educational wine trail, which shows different traditional wine-growing cultures, up to the world's largest Klapotetz at Kalkriegl. The Jägersteig trail finally takes you to the observation point on the Demmerkogel (671 m), the highest point of the circular route, from where you have a wonderful panoramic view in all four directions. From there, the hiking trail leads across the butterfly meadow on municipal paths to the second viewing hill at Hochbrudersegg. Via Mitterberg, you will mostly follow municipal paths past numerous wine taverns to Brünngraben, from where the route leads back to the starting point via Hofholz and Reith on municipal paths without any significant differences in altitude. An eventful hike that is very well suited for a day trip. The route can also be shortened via variants 21a or 21b.

"Hike over the 3 hills with a wonderful panoramic view. The St. Andrä-Höcher loop begins in the centre of Sankt Andrä im Sausal and leads first along the municipal paths and finally through the forest hiking trail past the red deer enclosure into the Brünngraben (328m). Via Schmalegg you pass the largest Klapotetz to the baroque Harrachegg Castle with the Sausal wine and culture cellar. From there, the forest and game nature trail first leads to the Hubertus Grotto, then you follow the path out of the forest along the educational wine hiking trail, which shows different traditional wine-growing cultures, up to the world's largest Klapotetz at Kalkriegl. Via the Jägersteig (hunter's path) you finally reach the lookout point on the Demmerkogel (671 m), the highest point of the circular trail (the lookout point unfortunately burnt down, reconstruction is planned). From there the hiking trail leads across the butterfly meadow on municipal paths to the second viewing hill to Hochbrudersegg. Via Mitterberg you reach Brünngraben, passing numerous wine taverns, and from there the route leads back to the starting point via Hofholz and Reith on municipal paths without major differences in altitude.

Variant 21a: Small St. Andrä Round. Variant 21a offers the possibility of shortening the circular hiking trail with starting point St. Andrä im Sausal to half of the main trail without major differences in altitude. (See tour St. Andrä-Höcher Round No. 21).

A particularly popular spot on this hike is the panoramic footbridge – sit down, take your time, enjoy the silence and the picturesque panorama that unfolds before you.
