A beautiful loop trail leads from the Herkhütte to the Wolfgangikircherl and offers stunning views of the Laßnitz Valley, the Sulm Valley, and the Koralm. A true hiking experience.

The loop trail starts at the Klausen entrance and, after 50 meters, branches off to the left at the crossroads onto the Ruhri Panorama Trail No. 13, which runs partly through the Natura 2000 protected area. Then follow a steep, long path through the forest to a paved farm driveway. Hike uphill along this driveway, pass the Fuchsamtmann farmstead, and continue on to the Ruhri farmstead. A magnificent view along the paved road is the reward for the steep climb. From the Ruhri farmstead (rest area with drinking water), walk uphill along a longer stretch through the forest to the next farmstead, Kainz, located on Spengerweg. Follow this path uphill for about 200 meters, then turn left onto a dirt road toward “Wolfgangi.” From there, you’ll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Laßnitz Valley.
You will now reach the country road leading toward Weinebene. Follow this road downhill for about 150 meters, then turn right onto Oberer Wolfgangi-Weg. Passing the Herkhütte, you’ll hike for about 2 kilometers along a narrow paved road toward Wolfgangi. From this road, you’ll enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Koralpe and Speik mountains. After stopping for refreshments at the Alpine inn “Zum Gregorhansl,” you’ll then hike along the Mariazeller Weg 506 to the Wolfgangikircherl. Here you’ve reached the most beautiful point of the hike. Afterward, the trail descends about 200 m to a fork in the road, where you’ll turn left. The trail continues past the Czerweny Rock (commemorative plaque) through the forest to the Wieserhuisl farmstead. There, the Mariazeller Weg 506 meets Trail No. 12, and you walk downhill along the Mariazeller Weg 506 and Trail No. 12 back to the starting point. A magnificent yet challenging day hike awaits you.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Stainz-Deutschlandsberg.

Beim Klausen-Eingang starten wir und zweigen nach 50 m links beim Kreuz zum Ruhri-Panoramaweg ab, der uns steil hinauf durch den Wald (geringes Gefälle vor einem Gerinne - die Überquerung des Gerinnes erfordert Geschick) führt. Danach folgen wir einem steilen, langen Pfad durch den Wald bis zur asphaltierten Hofzufahrt der Liegenschaften Fuchsamtmann und Ruhri. Diesen Hofzufahrtsweg wandern wir bergauf, gehen am Gehöft vlg. Fuchsamtmann vorbei und weiter bis zum Gehöft vlg. Ruhri. Eine herrliche Fernsicht entlang der Asphaltstraße ist der Lohn für unseren steilen Anstieg. Vom Gehöft Ruhri (Rastplatz mit Trinkwasser in der Nähe) gehen wir vorerst an der Grenze zwischen Wiese und Wald weiter (Waldstrecke bis zum Hof vlg. Kainz).Nach der Lichtung beim Kainzhof gehen wir ca. 200 m am Spengerweg bergauf und zweigen dann links in einen Feldweg Richtung "Wolfgangi" ab. Von dort hat man einen herrlichen Panoramablick in das Laßnitztal. Nun gelangen wir auf die Landesstraße Richtung Weinebene. Auf dieser gehen wir ca. 150 m bergab und zweigen dann rechts in den Oberen Wolfgangi-Weg ab, welcher zum Wolfgangikircherl führt. Wir gehen am Gasthof Herkhütte vorbei und wandern dann ca. 2 km auf einer schmalen Asphaltstraße Richtung Wolfgangi. Von dort hat man eine wunderschöne Fernsicht auf die Koralpe/Speik. Weiters gehen wir auch beim Alpengasthaus Gregorhansl vorbei, welches am Mariazeller Weg 506 liegt. Wir wandern dann den Mariazeller Weg 506 entlang bis zum Wolfgangikircherl und danach gehen wir diesen bis zum Waldrand bergab. Nun zweigen wir links ab und gehen am Czerweny-Felsen (Gedenktafel) vorbei durch den Wald bis zum Gehöft vlg. Wieserhoisl (Warnblickweg 32). Dort trifft sich der Mariazeller Weg 506 mit dem Weg Nr. 12 und wir gehen dann entlang des Mariazeller Weges 506 und dem Weg Nr. 12 bis zum Ausgangspunkt zurück.

ERGÄNZUNG: Mariazeller Weg (506)Aus Eibiswald, über Schloss Limberg kommend führt dieser Weg südlich des Moorbades durch Schwanberg zum Josefi-Kircherl, weiter über Schloss Schwanberg, Großgraden zum Gasthof Stegweber. Weiter gehen wir dann entlang des Stullnegbachs bis zur Grünbergkapelle (Hinweis: Asphaltweg bis zur Wolfgangikirche) dort beginnt wieder der Anstieg über Steinbauer-Joselbauer zum Alpengasthaus Gregorhansl. Hier trifft dieser Weg mit dem Wolfgangiweg Nr. 12 zusammen. Gemeinsam führen sie zum Wolfgangikircherl, wo sie sich wieder nach einer Zeit trennen. Es geht weiter Richtung Osten und bald nach Norden, vorbei an der Czerweny-Gedenktafel (Felsen) durch den Wald bis zum vlg. Wieserhoisl. Dort kommen die beiden Wege wieder zusammen und gehen gleichlaufend bis nach Deutschlandsberg zurück. Von der Laßnitzbrücke gehen wir dann weiter durch die Stadt über den Hauptplatz (Mariensäule) dort biegen wir in die Kirchengasse ein und gehen weiter bis zum Bahnübergang. Diesen überquerern wir und biegen Richtung Tennisplätze ein, wo wir dann Richtung Pension Kochhansl weitergehen. Von dort geht´s dann weiter Richtung Steinwand, Geipersdorf und zum Schloss Wildbach. Über Feldbaum geht es dann nach Bad Gams, usw.
