The largest circular hiking trail in Gamlitz - a wonderful opportunity to explore the picturesque region.

Starting at the Gamlitz sports field, the trail leads you through the forest to the ridge, then across the Presstal valley and over the Labitschberg hill to Kranachberg. The route continues through the forest into the valley, and after a short stretch along the main road, you hike again through vineyards and across meadows up to the Sernauberg hill. From there, the trail descends over the Schererkogl hill to the Steinbach stream, and finally follows the stream back to the starting point.

Coming from Graz, take the A9 motorway, then take the Vogau exit. Follow the B69 towards Ehrenhausen until you reach Gamlitz.
Park at the sports field in Gamlitz.

From the sports field Gamlitz uphill through the forest to the ridge - on the municipal path via Presstal - Labitschberg to Kranachberg further through the forest into the valley - a short stretch along the main road and again through vineyards and across meadows up to the Sernauberg - over the Schererkogl down to the Steinbach and downstream back to the starting point.

Small rucksack with water bottle, light hiking boots, Nordic walking poles, sunscreen, umbrella, mobile phone, detailed map/hiking map of the hike.

A visit to the "Die Amtmann" herb garden is a must during your hike. There you can stroll through the garden and discover many fragrant and medicinal herbs as well as rare wild fruits.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible. Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
