Kuketz Island – 400-million-year-old rocks from beyond the equator! The geological structure of this inconspicuous mountain ridge has a special feature. In some trenches, beneath and alongside sand and marl that were deposited here around 15 million years ago in a shallow sea, rocks have been uncovered that are over 400 million years old.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.
