A wonderful hike that takes us to the Demmerkogel at an elevation of 671 meters, the highest point on this route. It offers several highlights and is sure to delight any lover of South Styrian cuisine.
From the starting point, turn right and head downhill along the municipal road; after about 400 m, turn right again and follow the marked trail down into the Kroisgraben. Keep left and follow the stream until you leave the valley floor on the right toward Altenberg, then cross the Fresinggraben away from the municipal roads all the way to Brudersegg. Keep to the right at the road, and after a steady climb through Hochbrudersegg, you’ll reach the Demmerkogel (671 m). From here, a breathtaking panorama unfolds, inviting you to linger. The Demmerkogel is also home to the world’s largest Klapotetz. Another highlight is the observation tower, which is a must-see. From the Demmerkogel, the route leads through a wooded area. After about 400 m, keep left and follow the path down to the Kroisgraben. Keep left, then immediately after the fish ponds, turn right and continue to the municipal road. Here, turn left and continue to the main road. Turn right and follow the road for about 1 km along the sidewalk back to the starting point. Take the time to let your hosts treat you to some South Styrian culinary delights.
