The hike begins at the Dreisiebner Stammhaus wine tavern in Gamlitz. The trail winds through the Zoppelberg, Sulz, and Hochsulz vineyards. It follows the Cäcilienrosenweg trail on the Zoppelberg, offering stunning views of the wine country. Near the Trunk wine tavern, you can visit the Herzerlstraße. Descending through forests and meadows, the trail winds through the vineyards of the Sulz vineyard. At the end of the loop hike, the trail leads up to Hochsulz. This spot offers an impressive view of the surrounding landscape. Enjoy wine, local cuisine, and the unique scenery.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Vogau/Straß exit. Follow the B69 to Gamlitz. In Gamlitz, turn right toward the South Styrian Wine Route until you reach Sulztal, then turn left.

Start: Dreisiebner Stammhaus. The trail leads through the Zoppelberg, Sulz and Hochsulz vineyards. It goes along the Cäcilienrosenweg on the Zoppelberg with a beautiful view of the wine country. Near the Buschenschank Trunk you can visit the Herzerlstraße. Descending over forest and meadow paths, the trail leads through the vineyards of the Sulz vineyard. At the end of the circular hike, the path leads up to Hochsulz. At the Genuss- & Picknickplatz you have the best view over the South Styrian wine country.

Herzerlstraße, located on the border between Styria and Slovenia, is a popular photo spot and tourist destination. Only when viewed from a specific angle does this small road, nestled in a Slovenian vineyard, reveal its heart shape.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible. Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
