On this route, you will learn a lot about the history of the place. Gerhard Roth found plenty of material for his ‘Stiller Ozean’ (Silent Ocean). He writes about the Kirchenwirt, the cemetery and the beekeeper Zmugg, whom you will encounter on this tour.
You start at the Greith House, follow the blue leaf markings and walk past the church to a fork in the road. Here, the Ulricher Rundweg turns left and follows the main road into the valley floor, where the route turns left again. You walk uphill and downhill repeatedly. The trail takes you through a varied landscape, enhanced by magnificent views. Passing herb gardens, an apiary and a particularly inviting cider tavern, the route leads you back to the main road. Along this road, the Schau- und Genussrunde (show and enjoyment trail) branches off to the left on a separate footpath back to the starting point.

More information
From Graz, take the A9 motorway towards Slovenia and exit at Leibnitz. Drive via Gleinstätten and Gasselsdorf to St. Ulrich.
