A very pleasant route that can be walked all year round. A pretty village that has won several awards as the most beautiful flower village in Styria.

The Petrusweg is a peaceful circular walking trail for every day, starting in St. Peter im Sulmtal. The route passes places that invite reflection. The hike is a journey of discovery and contemplation. A path that alternates between sunny sections and cool forests.
Passing many monuments of popular piety, we walk along the road between pumpkin and corn fields. Shortly after Kerschbaum, the beautiful mixed forest begins, which must be just as beautiful in the fresh green of spring as it is in the bright gold of autumn.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 towards Klagenfurt at the Graz-West motorway junction. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 towards Deutschlandsberg, then continue on the B74 Sulmtal Straße to St. Peter im Sulmtal.

Unbedingt sehenwsert in St. Peter sind die Blumen und der moderne Kreuzweg. Daher sollte der Weg vor der Kirche beginnen und dem Kreuzweg talwärts folgen. Beim Teich, bzw. bei der Petrus-Büste beginnt der Petrusweg 5 dann wirklich, der zunächst der Straße Richtung Kerschbaum folgt. An vielen Denkmälern volkstümlicher Frömmigkeit vorbei wandern wir immer der Straße entlang zwischen Kürbis- und Maisfeldern. Kurz nach Kerschbaum beginnt der schöne Mischwald, der im frischen Grün des Frühlings genauso schön sein muss wie im strahlenden Herbstgold. Beim Ortsteil Kalkgrube trifft der Weg auf die Hauptstraße und folgt dieser links abzweigend für 200 Meter bis zum Alten Kröll. Dort, kurz vor dem Wirtshaus, biegt der Petrusweg wieder nach links ab und verläuft ziemlich verkehrsberuhigt zu den wunderschönen Höfen und Häusern in Eichegg hinauf. Nette Aus- und Einblicke tun sich auf, bevor wir wieder in einen Wald eintauchen. Der Weg führt abwärts und trifft in Hausleiten auf eine Kreuzung. Hier folgen wir der Straße nach links, die über Freidorf zum Bahnhof von St. Peter weiterführt. Einige Minuten später stehen wir wieder am Ausgangspunkt der interessanten Runde.
