The third of the “Hiking in Ehrenhausen” wine trails is a loop trail that leads to Gamlitz, home to Europe’s largest motor skills park, and back again.

Starting from the center of Ehrenhausen, you first hike toward Gamlitz. Passing the Archduke Johann Wine Shop, turn left toward Ottenberg, where you’ll already see the first vineyards and be rewarded with a magnificent view. You’ll pass by wineries and wine taverns along the way. Passing the Dietrich fruit farm and Marko wine tavern, the trail then descends via the Ratscher Graben to Europe’s largest motor skills park in Gamlitz. Take a short break here, and if you haven’t burned off enough energy yet, take a lap around the park and explore the stations. You’ll then hike back to Ehrenhausen along the Weinleitenstraße. A short detour to the Gamlitz water tower, which is located slightly off the trail, offers you a magnificent view of the countryside.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Vogau/Straß exit—keep right and continue toward the South Styrian Wine Route (B69) until you reach Ehrenhausen.

Der Weg führt über befestigte Straßen, Wald- und Wiesenwege.

Vom Neuen Markt bzw. Parkplatz in Ehrenhausen spazieren wir in Richtung Gamlitz, vorbei ab der Erzherzog Johann Weine Vinothek. Nach Links weg folgen wir der Ottenbergstraße (zwischen Lagerhaus und Weintracht), welche dann über einen leichten Anstieg nach Ottenberg führt. Vorbei am Obsthof Dietrich, am Obstgut Ledinegg und Wein- und Obsthof Marko geht es dann durch den Wald hinunter Richtung „Bochhansl“. Im Ratscher Graben angekommen wandern wir nach rechts weiter in Richtung Ortszentrum Gamlitz. Bevor wir dieses erreichen führt uns ein Weg rechts Weg zum Motorikpark Gamlitz, oder über die Variante entlang des Gamlitzbaches wieder zurück nach Ehrenhausen. Vorbei beim Motorikpark Gamlitz geht der Weg zurück über die Weinleitenstraße nach Ehrenhausen.
