Welcome to the Kistenbratl experience in southern Styria!

Our culinary highlight is ideal for groups of 15 or more and can delight up to 100 people. The Kistenbratl, a Styrian roast pork consisting of stuffed belly, pork shoulder, loin, potatoes and cabbage, is a real treat for the palate, which impresses above all with its regionality.
Everything comes fresh from the region and therefore offers an authentic taste experience. Enjoy the box roast between the picturesque vineyards of southern Styria and let yourself be enchanted by the unique atmosphere. How does the crate work?
The idea of the Kistenbratl is not necessarily new. People discovered very early on that you can bury meat and potatoes and then light a fire on top. The buried food is then cooked with top heat. Later, the pieces of barbecue were placed in a hole in the ground and this hole was covered with a stone slab. The fire was then lit on this stone. Many people will now remember cooking potatoes under a campfire as children. The principle is probably always the same and is perfected in the Kistenbratl. The meat is placed in a box and the fire is placed on the lid of the box. This ensures that the roast is cooked gently at top heat. So, what are you waiting for?
