Spielfelder Kulturtage
From August 18 to 22, 2026, the historic Castle Spielfeld will once again serve as a stage for extraordinary musical experiences. The Spielfeld Cultural Days connect high-profile concert moments with the special atmosphere of a historic location on five enchanting summer evenings, creating a meeting place for music lovers, culture enthusiasts, and curious explorers.
The program:
The opening event is the “Night of Emotions” on August 18. Together with the Girardi Ensemble Graz, tenor Roman Pichler presents the most beautiful compositions from the opera and operetta literature. Great melodies, moving arias, and the timeless beauty of classical vocal art promise a festive start to the festival.
The “Night of Talents” on August 19 is fully dedicated to the musical future. In cooperation with the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory, seven young award winners showcase their skills. Included are Leonardo Iannuccelli on cello, Lukas Maierhofer on piano, Anna Maria Semmernegg (soprano), Yangzhenshi Davis Pan on guitar, as well as the ensemble Boyz’N Flutes with their virtuosic recorder artistry.
On August 20, the “Night of the Future” opens new musical perspectives. As part of the cultural program of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, outstanding soloists and ensembles from the genres of world music, classical, and new music will take the stage. The audience can look forward to the accio piano trio, double bassist Helene Glüxam, violinist Judith Fliedl, and the ensemble HAEZZ, which captivates with an extraordinary sound language between tenor saxophone and double bass.
The “Night of the Philharmonists” on August 21 brings international top musicians to Spielfeld. Paul Blüml, solo oboist of the Vienna Philharmonic, junto with musical companions, presents a chamber music evening of the highest standard. From Beethoven's famous "Gassenhauer Trio" to the grand finale featuring works by Francis Poulenc, the audience can expect a concert full of virtuosity and sound culture.
The grand highlight and conclusion of the Spielfeld Cultural Days is the “Night of the Symphony” on August 22. Under the artistic direction of Erich Polz, the Girardi Ensemble Graz presents an impressive program featuring Mendelssohn's overture to "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1, and Beethoven's stirring 7th Symphony. Together with young soloist Ceren Çelik on horn, an extraordinary concert evening is created, which impressively concludes the Spielfeld Cultural Days 2026.
The Spielfeld Cultural Days stand for musical diversity, cultural exchange, and the special connection between art and history. In the unique setting of Spielfeld Castle, a festival emerges that brings people together and creates unforgettable moments.
