Thursday, 02 July 2026 - Sunday, 19 July 2026
Show all dates
Five short plays about the differences and similarities between women and men.
Five short plays, five directors. A colorful summer evening at the Schlosstenne Burgstall in Wies:
EVENING OFF by Loriot
What could be better than doing nothing and relaxing during the evening off? But then something happens: She says something. And suddenly, the blissful calm is over, and escalation is not far away. A piece about the pitfalls of human communication – especially in relationships.
Director: Eisner Peter
Performers: Fenninger Franz (Man), Reichmann Gabi (Woman)
Performance rights: studio loriot
VERNISSAGE by Hugo Wiener
Actually, it's about a vernissage. Actually. But the most exciting part of a vernissage often only begins afterward. With fine irony and typical Viennese humor, Hugo Wiener takes a look behind polite facades and shows that people often perceive everything – except for what really matters.
Director: Krasser Julia
Performers: Grinschgl Gernot (Man), Schuster Melina (Woman)
Performance rights: Thomas Sessler Verlag
WOW by Hugo Wiener
An elegant apartment, a successful lawyer, and a harmless encounter – that's all it takes for a sophisticated game to begin in "Wow!". With much Viennese charm, pointed dialogues, and surprising twists, the characters find themselves deeper and deeper in a web of misunderstandings and double roles. Who really sees through whom remains open until the end.
Director: Grinschgl Gernot
Performers: Wiedner Karl (Dr. Robinson), Lukas Gudrun (Reporter), Wabnegg Johanna (Claudia)
Performance rights: Thomas Sessler Verlag
MARRIAGE - or everything for the cats by Margot Weller
Rosalinde is widowed. With her Fritz, she has also lost her zest for life, but… she is no wallflower and certainly not a child of sadness, as her best friend Helene must unexpectedly realize. Rosalinde does not want to stay single. She wants a new man! But which one and where to find him? She herself is not exactly a spring chicken anymore!
Director: Eisner Stefan
Performers: Reichmann Gabi (Rosalinde), Lukas Gudrun (Helene)
Performance rights: mein-theaterverlag
HILDE AT THE STATION by Helmut Schmidt
Hilde, a true West Styrian, has visited her care-dependent mother-in-law in Carinthia to discuss the future of her husband's mother with her sister-in-law Lola.
Somewhat annoyed, she makes her way home and stands at Kühnsdorf-Klopeinersee station. The Koralmbahn is 30 minutes late. While waiting on the platform, she reflects on the past days, her marriage, and her role as a woman, and realizes that life is particularly hard for women.
Director: Wiedner Karl
Performer: Wonisch Uli (Hilde)
Performance rights: mein-theaterverlag
