A sophisticated composition style meets high improvisational art
The Grammy-nominated musicians Manu Delago and Max ZT have joined forces to form a duo that explores the sonic possibilities of handpan and hammered dulcimer.
Impressive, sensual sound worlds are created - with sensitivity and at the same time great dynamism.
The two met nearly ten years ago when Manu Delago was on a tour in the USA. "At our first concert in New York in 2019, we mostly improvised, but over the years, spontaneous ideas have turned into complete compositions. Last year we finally found the perfect moment and place to record the music - an impressive room from the 18th century in an even older monastery in the Tyrolean Alps."
"A duo that faces each other and whose members have just turned 40? We simply had to name the album DEUCE," recalls Manu Delago.
