Su., 13.09.2026 from 11:00 o'clock

Agnes Heginger/Georg Breinschmid/Matthias Schorn/Maximilian Kromer/Marc Osterer

"How hard it is to be an ass!"

Ballads of a Vagabond... and other adventurous improvisation. Works and arrangements by Breinschmid, Schubert, Liszt, Riihimäki

Francois Villon is regarded as the most significant poet of the French late Middle Ages. In his ballads, he processes the experiences of his adventurous life, in which he repeatedly came into conflict with the law as a scholar and vagabond.

H.C. Artmann presented a very free translation of Villon's poems into Viennese, which was recorded by Helmut Qualtinger on vinyl. Georg Breinschmid adds some note heads to this. Additionally, there are original versions of works by Schubert and Liszt.

The celebrated singer Agnes Heginger interprets the songs and is accompanied by the composer on double bass and Maximilian Kromer on piano. New York star trumpeter Marc Osterer and Philharmonic musician Matthias Schorn on clarinet are also there to blow vibrant air through their instruments!
