Panoptikum - 30 Jahre Anton Halm Gesellschaft
It will be celebrated in the most beautiful way that the Anton Halm Society has distinguished itself for 30 years: with music.
On December 13, 1996, the Anton Halm Society was founded. Exactly 30 years later, it invites you to a festive musical panorama – an evening of remembrance, further thinking, and celebration. Three decades of dedicated music care, research, and vibrant cultural work come to life through words, images, and above all, sound.
At the center are special milestones of this shared journey: such as the Wies premiere of the Es major mass by Anton Halm, the rediscovery of the Te Deum by Toni Hafner, and impressive concert tours that have taken us to a private concert for Pope Benedict in the Vatican Gardens.
Who was Anton Halm?
Anton Halm (1789–1862), born in Wies, was not only a respected composer and piano educator but also a contemporary of Beethoven. His life and work are at the center of the research work of the Anton Halm Society Wies. This society has been committed for years to keeping the versatile musician from Styria in memory – also through the work of the choir and orchestra vulgo Anton Halm ChOrchester, which continually brings Halm's legacy to life in impressive ways.
