Between an empty wallet and full shopping bags unfolds a comedy that could hardly be more relevant.

The theater center deutschlandsberg is bringing the biting cult comedy “Payment Is Not Guaranteed!” by Dario Fo to the stage this summer – a theater evening full of speed, wit, and sharp social criticism.

At the center of the story are two working-class families struggling to make ends meet in the face of rising living costs. As the prices for basic necessities explode, the women of the neighborhood take matters into their own hands and raid the supermarkets. The plundered goods must then be hidden not only from the police but also from their own husbands – using equally creative and hilarious means. Suddenly, a mysterious “wave” of pregnancies seems to break out in the neighborhood …

What follows is a fast-paced comedy with surprising twists, absurd humor, and a message that is more relevant today than ever.
