New Year's Concert
With vigor, elegance, and an outstanding lineup, the Chamber Orchestra Ernst Friessnegg opens the cultural year with a varied and atmospheric program. As in every New Year's concert, the waltz is also at the center of attention this time: The waltz – a reflection of societal changes and a symbol of Austrian identity – invites you to fully immerse yourself in this special musical essence.
The Chamber Orchestra is conducted by its founder Ernst Friessnegg, long-time concertmaster of the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra (1978–2016). In addition to his work in renowned chamber music ensembles – including the Graz String Trio – he has significantly shaped the musical life far beyond the region with numerous concert tours and radio recordings. His repertoire includes works ranging from the classical period to modern times.
