Sunday:
Literary afternoon centered around wine, enjoyment, and joie de vivre
As part of the Junker Days on October 24 and 25, 2026, the Jöbstl Winery invites you on Sunday to the “Junker:Reading” – an autumn afternoon that uniquely connects wine and reading culture.
Between tastings and literary contributions, a space emerges where enjoyment, reflection, and storytelling intertwine.
The program spans a wide range from classic to contemporary literature, from cheerful art of living to thoughtful, sometimes critical voices. Texts by, among others, Peter Handke, Franzobel, Christine Lavant, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Charles Baudelaire, Friedrich Hölderlin, Pablo Neruda, Mascha Kaléko, and Peter Rosegger encounter prose texts, poems, and narratives that illuminate wine, nature, and human existence from different perspectives. Regional voices and Schilcher references also find their place and anchor the afternoon in the cultural context of the region.
The “Junker:Reading” consciously moves between lightness and depth: hymns of praise for life stand alongside inner monologues, nature images alongside philosophical fragments, humorous observations alongside quiet moments of reflection.
