This trio has really made an impact and has quickly risen from being a genuine hit in the local jazz scene to an international figurehead of Austrian jazz. Virtuosic improvisations played like on a postage stamp, a compact compositional style, and complex, groove-oriented rhythmics. Cool jazz elements combine here with stunning virtuosity to create a surprisingly fresh soundscape.

And such a thing comes from our good old post horn! Kirk Knuffke's cornet is certainly one of the most exciting and distinctive in the contemporary jazz league. With virtuosity, narrative depth, precision, and humor, this discipline is being finely crafted. In this exclusive concert of his trio with violinist Charlie Burnham, a spacious, breathing music full of sound fantasy and magical moments is created, oscillating between urban jazz and imaginary folk in free flight.
