Herbert Brandl was the most significant contemporary Austrian painter with a great international reputation. Shortly after his graduation, he gained significant attention in the mid-1980s as an important figure and vital member of a new painting discourse.
Herbert Brandl's works are represented in numerous Austrian and international collections; for his artistic achievement, he was awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Graz in 2024.
