Literary afternoon around wine, enjoyment, and zest for life

As part of the Junkertage on October 24 and 25, 2026, the Jöbstl winery invites you on Sunday to the “Junker:Reading” – an autumn afternoon that uniquely connects wine and literary culture.

Between tastings and literary contributions, a space is created where enjoyment, reflection, and storytelling intertwine.
The program spans a wide range from classical to contemporary literature, from cheerful art of living to contemplative, sometimes critical voices. Texts from authors such as Peter Handke, Franzobel, Christine Lavant, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Charles Baudelaire, Friedrich Hölderlin, Pablo Neruda, Mascha Kaléko, and Peter Rosegger meet prose texts, poems, and stories that illuminate wine, nature, and human existence from different perspectives. Regional voices and references to Schilcher also find their place, anchoring the afternoon in the cultural context of the region.

The “Junker:Reading” consciously moves between lightness and depth: hymns to life sit alongside inner monologues, nature imagery alongside philosophical fragments, humorous observations alongside quiet moments of reflection.
