Finally, real Austropop again – this is often heard when talking about the duo Edmund from the Vienna Woods. Roman Messner and Markus Kadensky write beautiful two-voiced songs in dialect straight from the heart, combining the best of old Austropop with contemporary songwriting and hitting the mark with a good dose of rock. An Edmund concert is a special experience. Fans sing along with the band, creating a wonderful sense of community.
The songs by Edmund revolve around failure, rising again, and relationships that are not always as simple as one would wish. Edmund speaks their mind openly and often expresses things very directly and with precise language. This is probably what their fans love about them – they speak to their souls. And to be honest, anyone who chooses the name "Mundl" Sackbauer for their band name is someone you can only like.
