The Graz singer and guitarist Christian Masser, who has been performing solo for 33 years and in various band formations ("The Mysterious Bluesmen", "Blues and Ballads" with his brother Robert Masser and Ripoff Raskolnikov) on local stages and in neighboring countries, serves a fine mix in his solo program of handpicked country & folk songs (Cash, Kristofferson, Dylan, etc.) and Mississippi blues: songs about hard work and cotton fields, ghost riders and mama's boys, about sinners on Saturday night and saints on Sunday morning.
The sparse style (voice and (slide) guitar) gives Masser plenty of room for an evocative and sensitive interpretation of the song material.
