Ausstellung "zum 60er" von Karin Westreicher

The artist Karin Westteicher is celebrating her milestone birthday in a special way.

More than 30 years ago, Karin Westteicher discovered her love for painting.

With great enthusiasm, she is also connected to the project "School Ethiopia" and supports it with her works. From this heartfelt commitment, the idea arose to organize a charity auction in the city gallery of Deutschlandsberg featuring 60 of her paintings – watercolors and acrylics – for her milestone birthday.

On this occasion, the opening of an exhibition will take place on Thursday, the 13th of August at 6.00 p.m. in the city gallery of Deutschlandsberg, which will conclude with the auction of her paintings on the 22nd of August at 6.00 p.m. The entire proceeds will go towards the construction of the Zikiti Bakelo HPS, the school organized by Peter Krasser in the Highlands of Ethiopia, which aims to provide a good education for another 1,500 children.

The viewing of the paintings from the 13th - 22nd of August is possible during the opening hours of the city gallery (Friday, Saturday 9:00 - 12:00 a.m., Sunday 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.). Following the auction, a small celebration with musical accompaniment will take place in the courtyard of the city gallery, to which everyone is warmly invited. Karin Westreicher completed the Master School for Art and Design HTBLA Graz/Ortwein and continued her education in painting and printmaking as well as in plastic arts. Her versatility is expressed in many techniques. The range varies from watercolors and acrylic works to sculptures in combination with copper. Her works reflect changes in nature, light, and life. Numerous solo and group exhibitions in Austria, Slovenia, Italy, and Poland made her known far beyond the borders of Southwestern Styria. Her place of residence and studio are located in Flamberg, St. Nikolai im Sausal.
