Respectful treatment of nature has always been a symbol of the winemaker's craft. In order to preserve the naturalness of the soil, the Gerngross family has decided to cultivate the vineyards organically. This is mainly to preserve the fertility and biodiversity. The vines thank for the careful handling by a special complexity and originality of the wines.
UNIQUE
The Hochbrudersegg vineyard is one of the oldest and best single vineyard sites in the Sausal. Characterized by the red slate and the altitude, this unique south-south-west oriented steep slope offers the best conditions for pressing expressive wines of origin. The altitude of this vineyard brings with it a slow vegetation process. This allows physiologically mature grapes to be harvested, which still have sufficient acidity even at high maturity.
