Urbani-Kapelle
Ehrenhausen an der Weinstraße
The Urbani Chapel in Ratsch an der Weinstraße is a small, listed chapel that was built between 1970 and 1972 according to the plans of architect Anton Walter. It is dedicated to Saint Urban, the patron saint of viticulture, and is freely accessible in the local area on the Ratsch Wine Road.
The interior of the chapel was designed by the West Styrian artist Franz Weiß and features artistic references to rural tradition and the South Styrian landscape. Numerous details of the furnishings reflect the community's connection to viticulture and invite contemplation, devotion, and reflection.
The Urbani Chapel serves as a place of devotion and remembrance of viticulture in the region and is open daily throughout the year. It is a popular destination for visitors to South Styria who wish to experience historical and cultural sites in combination with the region's scenic beauty.
