Aeijst

St. Nikolai im Sausal

Aeijst is a Styrian gin. Named after the dialect word for branches. Behind it is the Thomann family - Wolfgang, Markus, Paul, Lisa and their friend Andreas. It is produced in southern Styria. Styria may not be traditionally known for gin, but that's starting now.

Aeijst is made from 100% organic ingredients. Nine different botanicals were first tasted individually, then combined in a harmonious recipe. Handcrafted from honest conviction. Balanced in taste. Puristic, but not simple - By the way, much better than talking about gin is drinking gin.

It all began with a passion. 25 years ago Wolfgang discovered schnapps distilling for himself. With an old copper pot still, fruit from his own garden and a few industrious helpers, he distilled alcohol for the first time. Amazingly enjoyable and full of heart. Over the years, the experience grew and more and more helpers joined in, including his children Lisa, Markus and Paul. The idea for Aeijst came, how could it be otherwise, while tasting together. At that time we didn't know what it should taste like, but what it should stand for. Namely for pleasure, a lot of attention to detail and of course for family.

Guided tours, tastings & workshops
Guided tours of the distillery and tastings of the fine spirits are available at any time during opening hours. For groups of 6 people or more, advance reservations are requested. In addition, you can learn the theoretical basics of gin distilling and produce your own bottle of gin at a workshop.

Seminar room
Directly next to the production is the seminar room. Up to 13 people can develop new ideas here while the scent of fresh juniper wafts through the room. After the work there is gladly a tasting.
