Aeijst
St. Nikolai im Sausal
Aeijst is a Styrian gin. Named after the dialect word for branches. Behind it is the Thomann family - Wolfgang, Markus, Paul, Lisa and their friend Andreas. It is produced in southern Styria. Styria may not be traditionally known for gin, but that's starting now.
Aeijst is made from 100% organic ingredients. Nine different botanicals were first tasted individually and then combined in a harmonious recipe. Handcrafted from honest conviction. Balanced in flavor. Puristic, but not simple - By the way, drinking gin is much better than talking about gin.
It all started with a passion. 25 years ago, Wolfgang discovered distillation. With an old copper still, fruit from his own garden, and a few diligent helpers, he distilled alcohol for the first time. Surprisingly enjoyable and full of heart and soul. Over the years, experience grew, and more helpers joined in, including his children Lisa, Markus, and Paul. The idea for Aeijst came, as it could not be otherwise, during a shared tasting. What it should taste like, we didn't know back then, but what it should stand for: enjoyment, a lot of love for detail, and of course, family.
